Our China Studies program recently organized a guest lecture titled “The Media’s Simple Narratives about a Complex Continent” with Philip Róin, Asia correspondent for DR.

During the lecture, Philip discussed the importance of language skills for foreign correspondents and the dilemma of trying to communicate the complex realities of the region while writing in a way that is accessible to an audience with little knowledge about Asia.
