A joint Danish-Ukranian team of four scholars visited Ukraine in the beginning of April to show support and collect materials for a new research project.

Researchers from our Japan Studies program presented some of the preliminary results of the project Coercive and Emotional Diplomacy in East Asia: Japanese Responses at the International Studies Association 2024 Annual Convention in San Francisco in early April.

The event provided an opportunity for collective reflection on Brazil's military dictatorship.

Two of our post docs at the Department of Global Studies recently completed their course in university pedagogy, when they presented very insightful posters on two Global Studies courses.

On December 1, we held a lovely julefrokost for our staff at the Department. China Studies did a wonderful job hosting this year, with a dinner full of tasty Chinese dishes.

New figures are showing that graduate unemployment in Denmark is at its lowest level since before the financial crisis! Our Master’s program in International Studies is on par with the national average at only 6%, and our Master’s program in European Studies with only 3.6%!

We had the pleasure of holding our last departmental meeting of the year at Køn - Gender Museum Denmark on December 29.

Brazilian Studies Research Colloquium To start December with a great event, Brazil Studies hosted a wonderful research colloquium on Friday.

On November 28 we held the closing event for “Global Ports and Shipping – A Network Project”. Annette Skovsted Hansen and her team presented all of the wonderful work that they have done on the project over the past few years.

On November 24, we hosted a fascinating book talk by Heather Swanson from the Department of Anthropology here at AU about her new book: “Spawning Modern Fish: Transnational Comparison in the Making of Japanese Salmon”.
