On November 28 we held the closing event for “Global Ports and Shipping – A Network Project”. Annette Skovsted Hansen and her team presented all of the wonderful work that they have done on the project over the past few years.

On November 24, we hosted a fascinating book talk by Heather Swanson from the Department of Anthropology here at AU about her new book: “Spawning Modern Fish: Transnational Comparison in the Making of Japanese Salmon”.
On November 22nd, the third semester Japanese Studies students hosted a wonderful cooking event for the purpose of social and cultural exchange. The students invited current exchange students from Japan, as well as their professors and assistant teachers.

On November 15th, we were delighted to host a lecture by Sonia Contera from the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford. The lecture was titled Reality, Technology and Power: the deep relationship of modern Japan with Physics and physicists.
